St. Vincent de Paul
KNOWN Young Adult Group: KNOWN is a group of young-adult volunteers that dedicates the 2nd Saturday/month to morning activities at the St. Vincent de Paul Shelters. By building individual relationships with guests, we seek to affirm the inherent beauty and dignity of each person. While the shelter provides food, clothing, and a safe environment to its guests, our group serves the non-material needs of the guests through simple and consistent accompaniment. Serve a Meal: This opportunity is available for Lunch or Dinner at our Men’s Shelter and our Women & Families Shelter. It is available for individuals or Groups. Volunteers will help set up to serve the meal, serve the meal to the guests, and assist with kitchen clean-up. For more information contact [email protected].
Kitchen Assistant: This job is located at the Central Kitchen. Shifts are from 8-11a.m., 11-2p.m., and 2-5p.m. Kitchen Assistants help prep with the needs of the day which may include meal prep and kitchen cleaning. Experience not required. For more information contact [email protected].
Shelter Assistance at Gettysburg Ave. Shelter: This includes a variety of jobs depending on the needs of the day. You will work directly with the shelter manager or the shift supervisor and get your responsibilities assigned from them. Jobs may include laundry, stripping sheets, filling water check points, cleaning up the outside perimeter (trash pickup, gardening), case management assistance: collecting and issuing appointment cards.
